How to make an appointment

Please call at Reception or telephone during surgery opening hours only. Make it clear if your problem requires urgent attention. If you are acutely ill, you will always be seen on that day but not necessarily by your preferred doctor.

Two thirds of our appointments are bookable up to two weeks in advance and the remaining third are bookable on the day.

Where possible we will aim to give you an appointment with your preferred doctor.

If your appointment is not urgent please avoid calling on Monday morning as this is the busiest time of the week.

Don't forget to cancel your appointment if you cannot keep it.

The reception staff are available via telephone Monday to Friday between 08:30 - 18:30 but we request that only urgent telephone calls are made after 18:00 on weekdays.

ASK AT RECEPTION IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR OUR 'BOOK ON-LINE' SERVICE.

Home Visits

The GP will visit you at home, at your request, only if you are 'too ill'  to attend the surgery.

Please bear in mind that, with the large semi-rural area that our practice covers, a visit request may take up to 30 minutes of the doctor’s time in travelling. A GP can see three or more cases in the time it takes to undertake a home visit.

Out of Hours

If you need help or advice and the situation cannot reasonably wait until the surgery is open, telephone Harmoni (the West Sussex Out Of Hours Centre) on 0300 1301313.

Please do not go directly to the treatment centre as appointments are strictly by invitation and you may be refused access. All telephone conversations with the Out Of Hours Centre are recorded for your own protection.

In a life threatening emergency you should still dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

Sickness Certificates

You do not require a doctor’s sickness certificate for any illness lasting 7 days or less. Your employer may, however, require you to complete a self-certification form SC1 (SC2 if self-employed).

For any illness lasting longer than 7 days you will need to see the doctor for them to issue a sickness certificate (F.Med3).
