Out of Hours
Home Visits
The GP will visit you at home, at your request, only if you are 'too ill' to attend the surgery.
Please bear in mind that with the large semi-rural area that our practice covers, a visit request may take up to 30 minutes of the doctor’s time in travelling. A GP can see three or more cases in the time it takes to undertake a home visit.
Please call the surgery for more details.
If you need help or advice and the situation cannot reasonably wait until the surgery is open, telephone the West Sussex Out Of Hours Centre on 01903 690111.
Please do not go directly to the treatment centre as appointments are strictly by invitation and you may be refused access. All telephone conversations with the Out Of Hours Centre are recorded for your own protection.
In a life threatening emergency you should still dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.
Sickness Certificates
You do not require a doctor’s sickness certificate for any illness lasting 7 days or less.
Your employer may, however, require you to complete a self-certification form SC1 (SC2 if self-employed).
For any illness lasting longer than 7 days you will need to see the doctor for them to issue a sickness certificate (F.Med3).
